ABOUT - DR JUDITH MOHRING
I’m a consultant psychiatrist with over 25 years' experience as a medical doctor, coach, therapist and trainer.
As a coach I work best with people who feel unfulfilled with life but can’t work out why. I have coached senior leaders in several industries and use a person centred, CBT informed approach.
As a lifestyle psychiatrist I enjoy working with neurodiversity, menopause, trauma, stress, burn-out and mild to moderate depression and anxiety.
Lifestyle psychiatry is a complementary medical approach which combines reflection, education and coaching around behaviour change. It leads to an understanding of the causes of an issue and provides practical, actionable, evidence-based solutions.
I am now taking on new clients for coaching and lifestyle psychiatry. I work online, with some face-to-face sessions in London on Mondays and Fridays.

What to expect
Lifestyle psychiatry is a complementary medical approach which combines reflection, education and coaching around behaviour change. It leads to an understanding of the causes of an issue and provides practical, actionable, evidence-based solutions. It is the third way in mental health, augmenting the impact of therapy and medication.
It is most effective when used preventatively, to complement recovery using traditional approaches, or to prevent relapse when symptoms have improved.
In my sessions we complete an assessment of where problems lie, and look at solutions involving:
- Work and Career
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Sleep and Rest
- Alcohol, Tobacco and substance use
- Social Relationships
- Nature connection,
- Mindfulness
- Compassion and giving
- Learning and creativity
We usually work together by completing an initial assessment and then contract for further sessions in blocks of four, with four weeks between each session. Within my network are trusted colleagues who provide microbiome analysis, nutritional advice, personal training, pilates, yoga, mindfulness, open water swimming and nature therapy interventions, as well as a range of psychotherapies.
I work alongside traditional psychiatrists, do not prescribe medication, and do not recommend coming off medication without consulting your prescriber. If I feel you need additional or different support I refer on to colleagues, usually within Cognacity.
Lifestyle psychiatry is not suitable as the sole method of management for clients with psychosis, severe mood disorder or suicidal thoughts or behaviour. I do not provide crisis management, risk assessment or hospital admissions as part of my service.
